About The Center for Biomedical Engineering

The University of New Mexico Center for Biomedical Engineering was established in 2005 to coordinate the specialized research of engineers, scientists, and clinicians to improve the health of all citizens and to stimulate the economy of New Mexico. The center conducts biomedical research on a wide array of topics, organizes hands-on outreach workshops to students in the community, and is involved in exciting and groundbreaking research with national laboratories, industry, and other educational institutions.

The Center for Biomedical Engineering aims to develop new technical innovations, enabled by research at the interface of engineering and medicine, that will produce transformational advances in the delivery, efficacy and cost containment of health care.
